A long-term public-agency support concept—not an operating response service
The Red Feather Brigade is a long-term concept for carefully governed support to public agencies. It is not an operating, licensed, armed, tactical, rescue, security, or law-enforcement unit and does not provide emergency services today.
Explore how a future support organization could assist participating public agencies without replacing police, fire, emergency medical, search-and-rescue, or emergency-dispatch authority.
Study non-law-enforcement logistics and humanitarian support that could be offered only under appropriate licensing, contracts, insurance, training, and public-agency direction.
Assess whether tools such as unmanned aircraft could responsibly support authorized agencies, subject to operator certification, airspace rules, privacy law, evidence policy, and agency control.
Study when existing certified public-agency or nonprofit resources—including qualified K-9 teams—could be requested through established channels. Native Brigade does not operate such resources today.
Define licensing, background screening, training, safeguarding, use-of-force boundaries, insurance, oversight, and accountability before any operational capability is considered.
Develop standards for third-party background screening, competency review, risk assessment, documentation, and continuing oversight before anyone could serve in a future support role.
The Feather
Native Brigade is exploring whether experienced, properly screened professionals might one day support participating public agencies in narrowly defined roles. No team has been formed or deployed, and no composition, size, capability, response time, or jurisdiction is promised.
Any future model would require public-agency authority, legal and regulatory review, licensing, insurance, written operating procedures, independent safeguarding, and rigorous training and evaluation.
The proposed visual identity pairs a Red Feather Brigade concept patch with a separate feather. These are symbols associated with a possible future organization; they are not uniforms, credentials, or evidence that an operational team currently exists.
If the concept is ever developed, any insignia, eligibility standard, cultural reference, or recognition practice would require careful governance, documented criteria, and respectful review before adoption.
